Common signs of bed bugs being present are finding small blood spots on bed sheets, faecal pellets, distinctive smell and of course live insects.

Signs of a cockroach problem can be identified by various physical evidence such as cockroach droppings, smear marks, shed skin, cockroach eggs, damage caused by cockroaches, unusual odour and actual sightings in , kitchens, laundry roof voids and basements.

Subterranean termites (those most commonly seen in homes) are a similar size to a black ant except they are pale in colour. That’s why they are often called “white ants”. If you look closely, termites have two sections to their body while ants have three.

Soldier termites have a slightly darkened, or brown, head. You will also see termites with wings, called alates. Sometimes confused for moths, the allates fly out from the colony in search of a new environment in which to reproduce and develop a new colony.

Infestations in your home can be contained quite easily by removing the source of the infestation in a manner that will not disperse the infestation and sealing all other susceptible food sources.
